PT Timur Ship Management is a provider of integrated ship management services to the international shipping and offshore industries. Recently established in Indonesia as subsidiary company of THOME Group based in Singapore. THOME Group has been doing business in Indonesia for almost 20 years and the opening of Indonesia’s office is part of the reflection of significant growth and opportunities in Indonesia shipping industries.

TECHNICAL SUPERINTENDENT

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining a safe, cost efficient and environmentally sound operation standard To manage the daily operation of the number of vessels assigned
  • Advise Masters and Chief Engineers on important matters
  • Evaluate and monitor the required reporting from the vessels, act as required and inform other office sections and external bodies as is relevant
  • Follow up class and statutory certification status, condition of class and arrange for the necessary surveys and inspections
  • Arrange and follow up repairs and services
  • Visit vessels regularly (at least three times a year) and prepare visit reports
  • Review monthly cost control and financial reports before sending to Fleet Group Manager for approval, input for the annual budgets for the vessels
  • Prepare half yearly, three times a year and quarterly management reports for the Fleet Group Manager’s approval
  • Coordinate with the assigned vessels and prepare the dry docking specification for the Fleet Group Manager’s approval, submit the specification to yards for quotations, evaluate the received quotations and present them to the Fleet Group Manager
  • Attend the dry-docking, discuss shipyard invoicing before presenting same to the Fleet Group Manager and, or Technical Manager for approval
  • Prepare docking report
  • Follow up purchasing, monitor the orders from the vessel ensuring that they submitted in a timely fashion
  • Approve invoices for payment
  • Liaise with the Insurance Manager in claims handling
  • Part of Timur’s emergency response team (for the vessels he is responsible for)
  • Follow up the onboard maintenance system (AMOS), monitor the status and act on overdue items
  • Follow up reported deficiencies and non-conformities from vetting inspections, port state control, audits and flag state inspections and keep HSSEQ department advised of corrective action and closure
  • Assist on any ad-hoc tasks as required by the management

Requirements

  • Indonesian nationality
  • Have at least 5-8 years experience in maritime industry; have sailed experience as chief engineer on international vessels is preferable
  • Computer literacy
  • Good analytical and logical thinking
  • Strong leadership and good communication
  • Bachelor Degree Ship Engineer (Tehnik Sistem Kapal ITS), or ATT II (Shipping Academy)
  • Demostrate strong interpersonal, comminication and presentation skills, good command of English and Bahasa Indonesia, able work fast and under pressure
  • Mature, proactive, resourceful and hand-on with good initiative
